One Proud Mama

My daughter came home last night happy after bagging two silver medals in their school's annual Brainquest. She competed in four categories and won in Biology and English. The winning will increase her chances of making it in the top two of their grade level by the end of the term.

She also competed last Saturday in a Biotechnology and Genetics Competion sponsored by the country's premier state university, University of the Philippines against students from science schools and private schools around Metro Manila. It was the first time that their school participated in the annual quiz so they were not as prepared as the other school. She did not win but I'm proud of what she has achieved. She even got the answers to physics questions right when it was not even part of the curriculum for second year students.

Her achievements make me proud because it's hard raising a kid alone. Just getting her into a good school is a constant struggle with the cost of education so high in our country. I know she's aware of the situation so she makes up for it by getting good grades. I just hope things won't change for us.

Really happy for you to have such a wonderful daughter.

Kim and I always say when we have kids, they need to get a scholorship as a college education is too expensive!! ^^

Good job over there!!
